November 2013

The seminar in November 2013 opened with a discussion of the implications of recent developments in neurobiology for understanding child development. Speakers were Jack Shonkoff (Harvard University), Matt Woolgar (Institute of Psychiatry) and Denis Pereira Gray (CSP). Three other sessions were led by Nick Axford who described the current research undertaken by SRU, Elaine Farmer (University of Bristol) who spoke about her report The Poor Relations: Children and Informal Carers Speak Out and Roy Parker (CSP fellow) on grappling with the concept of severe and multiple disadvantage.
